An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen to recruit an Accredited Financial Investigator to support the Councils Regulatory Services.
The service is dedicated to tackling criminal activity and those who gain financially from it, depriving offenders of their criminal assets and allowing for their victims to receive compensation.
The successful candidate will sit within our Trading Standards service. Their primary role will be to undertake financial investigations into cases deemed suitable for investigation under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
As an Accredited Financial Investigator you will work closely with our front line investigation teams on the full range of AFI activities including financial profiling, restraint, confiscation, cash seizures, and obtaining investigative orders.
There will be opportunity to use your knowledge and experience of investigative techniques and financial intelligence across all regulatory disciplines of the Council. Ensuring that all investigations are conducted to the highest standards and displaying excellent verbal and written communication skills, flexibility in working patterns and practices, successful candidates will play a central role in regulatory delivery.
Whilst the post holder’s primary role is to undertake financial investigations they will be expected to assist Trading Standards in their regulatory functions. Therefore we particularly welcome applications from candidates with enforcement experience in Trading Standards or a similar regulatory service. We are looking for motivated and dedicated officers with commitment to high quality regulatory services.
You should have accreditation under the Proceeds of Crime Act Part 2 and 8, and have a proven track record of confiscation and asset recovery, together with excellent communication and analytical skills.
This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check
Initial fixed two year contract due to funding. However there is potential for the role to be longer term depending on the success of the project.
