“Ambition – Pride - Respect – Responsibility ”

The Governors are seeking to appoint an outstanding, committed and enthusiastic Teacher of Physical Education to teach across the full 11-16 ability range to start with us in January 2018.  Our site is easily accessible, located within five minutes of J4 of the M18 on the outskirts of Doncaster.

Armthorpe Academy is a thriving and welcoming school which is firmly committed to the principle other people matter. Our expectations of students are very high, both in terms of their progress and their behaviour. In particular, we expect them to invest in their own learning, and we encourage them to enjoy and make a positive contribution to the wider life of the school. They, in turn, can expect from us the highest possible quality of teaching, care and support.

We welcome applications from colleagues with a PE specialism.  As a member of the Practical and Design faculty, you will work closely with the PE department and wider faculty to engage students in academic and extra-curricular aspects of their curriculum.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with colleagues in our partner academies and also have an input into the design of the PE curriculum.

You will be given full support within your role, benefitting from our strong CPD programme, as well as the opportunity to work with other local partner schools to develop and enhance your practice.

In summer 2016 we achieved our best ever results, making us one of the most improved schools in the country, we consolidated those results in 2017 and are now looking to further develop our team to ensure our improvements are sustained. The successful applicant will be a highly effective practitioner who is able to motivate students and enable them to achieve their full potential.

We are keen to support your career not only within our school but also across our group of academies that form Consilium Multi Academy Trust.

Visits to the school are welcomed and can be arranged by contacting the academy.

The closing date for applications is Monday 23rd October 2017 at 12 noon.

Interviews are scheduled for the week commencing 23rd October 2017 (dates to be confirmed)
