Astrea Academy Trust

Start date: April 2019

Location: South Yorkshire – Barnsley, Doncaster and Sheffield

Do you want the chance to actively contribute to the continued development of the established Astrea Multi Academy Trust?

Do you want to be part of a Central Team which is passionate about making a difference to the lives of children?

Do you have the passion and motivation to inspire others, and the ability to lead change and deliver excellence?

If so, then you will not want to miss out on the opportunity to join the Astrea family and be involved in working to accelerate learning for children in our schools. The person appointed will be an outstanding leader with a proven track record of raising standards, as well as a proven ability to take a lead on school initiatives.

Astrea Academy Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional SEND Support Officer who will work to support the National Leader of Inclusion in securing the continued improvement of SEND practices across the Trust and to provide vital support to schools in relation to day-to-day SEND support, including the delivery of targeted interventions, where appropriate.

The successful applicant will have a sound knowledge of the everyday practicalities and challenges of SEND, as well as experience of supporting SENCOs in the development of SEND Support Plans and in gathering evidence for statutory assessment requests.  The successful applicant will also have experience of working with Local Authorities and other stakeholders at an operational level.

This is a rare and exciting opportunity for an exceptional school leader to shape an inspiring and ambitious vision. The successful applicant will join a dynamic team, and will receive the enhanced support and leadership opportunities that the Trust is able to provide.

They will also benefit from the guidance of the Trust’s experienced and forward thinking Board, including National Leaders of Education and figures such as Professor John West-Burnham and various leaders of business and industry.

With 25 primary and secondary academies within the group across South Yorkshire and Cambridgeshire, plus the purpose built, all-though Astrea Academy Sheffield which opened in September 2018, the Trust continues to grow and inspire beyond measure. The Trust is committed to high quality professional development and career opportunities for all staff as we are passionate about cultivating our own talented workforce. At Astrea we believe that we can provide these unique roles by providing a huge opportunity to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding team.

We welcome all applicants who meet the essential criteria in the accompanying recruitment pack.  To apply for this role please email your completed Astrea application form to: recruitment@astreaacademytrust.org by the closing date noted below.
