An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join the designated AMHP team in Doncaster.  The post is full time and permanent.

The operational hours are 9 - 5 Monday to Friday, however there will be an expectation that the appointed post holder will cover a backup rota for Out of Hours work which includes the Emergency Social services functions. The back-up rota operates as a contingency to the core Out of Hours Team which operates from 17:00 through to 01:00 and then on call between the hours of 01:00 and 08:30. Cover for this service is on an as and when basis.

The AMHP team consists of 5 other experienced AMHP's who do not carry caseloads but carry out statutory assessments under the Mental Health Act, report writing as appropriate and necessary in addition to advising health colleagues and partner agencies in regard to application of the Mental Health Act.  In addition, the AMHPs undertake sec 117 reviews for clients based in out of area specialist placements and take an active role in discharge planning when required.

You will need to hold a Social Work qualification, be currently registered with the HCPC, with additional AMHP status and experience of front line AHMP practice.

For an informal discussion about the post please contact Annika Leyland Lead AMHP/AMHP team Operational Manager on 01302 798412.
